Our residency training program in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Washington School of Medicine (UWSOM) aspires to train tomorrow’s leaders: in provision of the most effective care, in development of optimal health care delivery, and in research. Our primary training site is at Seattle Children’s Hospital, a world class facility which is the regional tertiary care provider in the Pacific Northwest. We promote training which adheres to the best evidenced based practices delivered in a compassionate and humanistic manner.
We have a broad array of training sites which provide care to children and adolescents with diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds who have a wide range of disorders. The UWSOM encompasses a large geographic region including the states of Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho (WWAMI). We have created a number of opportunities for training which reach out into the region including rotations at distant sites such as Anchorage, Alaska, a regional Autism Center, and Telemedicine services to several states and liaison to primary care providers to several states in the WWAMI region.
We welcome your interest in our growing and vital training program.
